Formula Master team Iris Project will run 2008 Formula Renault Switzerland Vice Champion Simon Trummer in the upcoming season.
The 20-year-old got his first taste of Formula Master racing last year when he competed in the Series' final weekend in Monza, Italy, with Iris Project.
Trummer went on to test for the team last November in Imola, Italy, and in Valencia, Spain, where he posted the fifth best time on both Spanish days. "I have had the chance to try out Formula Master already in racing and in testing and I think the car's really good," said Trummer.
"I really like the team and it's great to drive with Andreas Jenzer again. It's the perfect step up from Formula Renault for me and I'm looking forward to learning as much as possible this year." "Simon had only raced one year with us prior to this coming season," said Andreas Jenzer who runs the technical side of Iris Project on behalf of Team Owner Igor Capik.
"His first single seater season in 2007 was with a very small team; he came to us the following year and finished the season as runner up. "It was an easy decision to move up to Formula Master; after two season in Formula Renault, he chose to stay with us and it made sense to promote him to Formula Master." After choosing to focus on one driver each season to date, Iris Project will run two entries for 2009 with Trummer's team-mate to be announced shortly. Simon Trummer - racing history:
