Kurt Busch, driver of the #2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger, led the Penske Racing trio of Cup Series drivers with an 11th place qualifying effort for the Emory Healthcare 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday night.
Busch was the 28th qualifier to make an attempt at the 1.54 mile oval, he posted a fast lap time of 29.769 seconds at a speed of 186.234 mph in the “Blue Deuce.”
“We were a little on the tight side; we were tight in practice,” said Busch.
“We made some changes at it and picked up speed, but it was just tight. We ran a 29.76 and were just a little off. When you can feel it in the car, you know that you’re going to be a little slow. Overall, it’s not a bad start for our Miller Lite Dodge.”
Penske Racing team-mates Sam Hornish Jr. and Brad Keselowski qualified 21st and 28th, respectively.
