 DTM results of the Saturday German Touring Car session in Austria - In a turbulent qualifying at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Martin Tomczyk driving an Audi secured pole position for the third DTM round of the year.
In the fourth qualifying heat, he completed the 4.326 kilometres long lap in 1'40.001 and classified ahead of his fellow Audi driver Oliver Jarvis, who was second.
In changeable conditions, Ralf Schumacher driving a C-Class Mercedes-Benz secured third place on the grid from Audi's rookie racer Edoardo Mortara.

Qualifying in detail:
- 13h40 - Start of the session. Rain sets in. Paffett is first in line to leave the pit lane.
- 13h42 - Bruno Spengler still had a tank can attached to his car while leaving his pit lane area.
- 13h43 - Ekström tops the time sheet with 1'47.903 minutes. Spengler is under investigation because of the tank can incident.
- 13h44 - Vietoris is now fastest with 1'40.831.
- 13h45 - Ekström has run into the barrier in the pitlane entry. His car is pretty heavily damaged. Molina also brushes the tyre wall.
- 13h47 - Engel is fastest with 1'40.373, followed by Spengler, Schumacher, Vietoris.
- 13h48 - Paffett now on top: 1'39.581.
- 13h51 - With five minutes remaining, Stoddart, Molina, Frey and Ekström are outside the top 14.
- 13h56 - End of the session. Paffett remains fastest from Engel, Green, Tomczyk, Spengler, Scheider, Schumacher, Mortara, Jarvis, Vietoris, Rockenfeller, Albuquerque, Coulthard and Van der Zande.
- 14h03 - Start of the next heat. Martin Tomczyk is the first driver to leave the pit lane.
- 14h04 - Red flag due to aquaplaning.
- 14h10 - The third heat is scheduled for 20 minutes and 5 seconds.
- 14h21 - Third session starts. Rockenfeller is the first driver on the track.
- 14h24 - Tomczyk is fastest with 1'40.932, followed by Green, Schumacher, Rockenfeller, Engel, Jarvis, Paffett, Albuquerque.
- 14h26 - Rockenfeller is now fastest with 1'39.901, but he is immediately toppled by Mortara: 1'39.248.
- 14h29 - Engel improves from sixth to fourth. Mortara remains on top from Scheider, Green. Jarvis moves up into fourth. Tomczyk is now second.
- 14h30 - Schumacher moves up into second.
- 14h31 - Vietoris is the 14th and last driver to go out onto the track. Mortara off the track in the penultimate corner.
- 14h33 - Schumacher is fastest with 1'38.605.
- 14h35 - Tomczyk moves up into first place with 1'38.418.
- 14h39 - Mortara moves up from third to first: 1'38.142, but his time is being declared void.
- 14h40 - Rockenfeller into fourth place, Mortara into second. Jarvis now fourth, topples Rockenfeller.
- 14h41 - End of the session. Mortara moves up into first with 1'38.105. He remains fastest from Tomczyk, Schumacher and Jarvis.
- 14h42 - Not qualified for Q4 are Rockenfeller, Engel, Scheider, Paffett, Green, Vietoris, Albuquerque, Spengler, Van der Zande and Coulthard.
- 14h52 - Oliver Jarvis: 1'40.353.
- 14h55 - Ralf Schumacher: 1'40.587.
- 14h57 - Martin Tomczyk: 1'40.001.
