 For the second consecutive year Will Power earned the PEAK Performance Pole Award for the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg driving the #12 Verizon Team Penske car, posted a quick lap of 1'01.9624, the quickest of the weekend, with 2'15 left in the 10 minute Firestone Fast Six shoot-out for his 11th IZOD IndyCar Series pole after setting a series record last season with eight.

 KV Racing Technology - Lotus announced today that IndyCar star Tony Kanaan will contest the 2011 IZOD IndyCar Series season for the team with primary support from GEICO and will pilot the #82 GEICO - KV Racing Technology - Lotus Honda/Dallara/Firestone entry joining Takuma Sato and E. J. Viso in a three car effort for the team in 2011.

 Within a week of revealing that Firestone would not compete in the IZOD IndyCar Series beyond the 2011 season, the tyre manufacturer discovered that it was still in demand and Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, LLC (BATO) and INDYCAR have announced that Firestone will continue to serve as the sole tyre supplier to the IZOD IndyCar Series through the 2013 race season.
