 MotoGP results of the race at the circuit in Barcelona - On a dry circuit, a depleted 15 rider field was reduced to 13 within a few of laps when San Carlo Honda Gresini’s Hiroshi Aoyama unintentionally knocked the luckless Randy de Puniet off the Pramac Racing Ducati and out of the race, fortunately neither were injured with the Japanese racer offering his apologies.

 MotoGP results of the warm-up session at the circuit in Barcelona - As damp conditions prevailed at the Montmelo circuit slowing the lap times, Italian pole sitter Marco Simoncelli on the San Carlo Honda Gresini machine was again fastest in the MotoGP warm-up for the Gran Premi Aperol de Catalunya posting a best time of 1’55.292 with the Ducati team riders Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden recording the second and third quickest times on the wet surface.
